Statement from National Action Network on the Decision in Missouri  

NEW YORK – In the wake of the resignation by the President of the University of Missouri and a walk-out by students and some faculty, National Action Network’s National Youth Move Director Mary Pat Hector is applauding the students who stood up against racism.

According to Ms. Hector, “The Missouri University students should be an example to us all that justice can prevail when students stand up in unity and peace, when demands are clear and people are willing to make sacrifices. The adults that did not sit quietly on the sideline but backed the students should also be an example of Dr. King philosophy that injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere.”
