NATIONAL ACTION NETWORK ANNOUNCES SLATE OF EVENTS FOR MARTIN LUTHER KING DAY IN NEW YORK, NEW JERSEY, AND WASHINGTON, D.C. TO REFLECT ON 50 YEARS SINCE DR. KING’S ASSASSINATION, FEATURING COUNTRY’S FOREMOST POLITICAL LEADERS

 

Joined by prominent civil rights leaders and elected officials, Rev. Al Sharpton and NAN will host events all over the country on Monday in honor of Martin Luther King, Jr. and his legacy of civil rights activism

                                                                                                                                                                                            

Rev. Al Sharpton and National Action Network (NAN) will welcome prominent elected officials and civil rights leaders at events all over the country on Monday to honor the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s legacy. In Washington, DC one of the original 1968 sanitation strikers from Memphis AFSCME Local 1733 where Dr. King was killed will be honored. NAN chapters across the United States will recognize the holiday with civil rights events in Washington, D.C., New York City, Newark, N.J., Cleveland, Ohio, Charleston, S.C., Macon, Ga., and San Diego, Calif. The three events where Rev. Al Sharpton will be present are listed below.
