Six Years After the Police Killing of Eric Garner, The Garner Family to Join Rev. Sharpton at the House of Justice
—Congressman-Elect Jamaal Bowman to Attend NAN’s Sat Action Rally for the First Time to Thank the Community
(NEW YORK, July 17, 2020) — On Saturday, July 18th, Rev. Al Sharpton, National Action Network (NAN), and Congressmember-elect Jamaal Bowman will join the family of Eric Garner to honor the life of Eric Garner, who was choked to death six years ago by New York City police officers in Staten Island.
This rally and will commemorate the sixth anniversary of Garner’s death and peacefully protest every victim of police brutality across the nation. The rally will also mobilize the community to stand in unwavering solidarity against the unnecessary and unacceptable losses of innocent Black lives at the hands of law enforcement.
