Al Sharpton next month at the National Action Network (NAN) Annual Convention in New York City. Those include Secs. Their appearance reflects the Administration’s partnership with NAN over the last two years to advance civil rights. That includes holding a White House summit on the rise of violent hate attacks, signing an executive order on police accountability, and nominating Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson as the first Black woman to sit on the Supreme Court. Earlier this year, President Biden appeared at the NAN MLK Day Annual Breakfast in Washington, D.C., where he spoke about the administrations’ priorities for Black Americans.
The largest of its kind in the country, the convention will welcome civil rights leaders and allies from around the nation for focused conversations and efforts on voter suppression, police and criminal justice reform, Black mental health, digital equity, public safety, and gun violence, among other topics. The list of participants will be updated periodically.
