(NEW YORK, NY) — For NAN’s 30th year in operation, Rev. Sharpton and the NAN team adapted the traditional annual Convention format for a pandemic resistant ‘Virtual Convention’. In doing so, NAN opened the doors for esteemed thought leaders around the country to come together to discuss pressing civil rights issues in different forums throughout the Convention.
Keeping with tradition, the Convention featured the voices of current major political forces, giving focused attention to their legislative and policy-driven plans for contributing to racial equity. NAN’s Virtual 2021 Convention featured virtual keynotes from President Joe Biden and current US representatives and members of President Biden’s Cabinet.
