Flint, MI – 1/22/15 – A U.S. House committee is expected to hold a hearing
Wednesday, Feb. 3, on the Flint water crisis and the government’s response
to high lead levels in drinking water there. Michigan Gov. Rick Snyder, who has apologized for the state’s handling of reports of high lead levels in Flint’s drinking water after it switched to the Flint River as its water source, is expected to be among those invited to testify before the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee. National Action Network started actions last year in late February 2015 calling on the state to switch back to the city of Detroit’s water source after a town hall meeting. The state ignored the plea of the community.
Rev Charles Williams II, “We are convening a national mobilization to Washington
DC, using our voices for prayer and our collective activism to fight for justice for Flint.”

Charles Williams II represents the next generation of civil rights leadership, as the President of the Michigan Chapter of the National Action Network, and the proud pastor of the Historic King Solomon Baptist Church of Detroit.
