Event Marks the 50th Anniversary of the Passage of the Voting Rights Act and will feature performances by Grammy and Oscar Awards-winning rapper, actor Common and legendary songstress Patti LaBelle
NEW YORK – Tomorrow, national civil rights leader Reverend Al Sharpton will speak in Atlanta at a free concert and voter registration rally hosted by The AIDS Healthcare Foundation, the world’s largest AIDS organization, in partnership with the AHF Black AIDS Crisis Taskforce. Rev. Sharpton’s remarks will focus on the health disparities and biases against those with HIV/AIDS especially in Black and Latino communities.
The rally will mark the 50th anniversary of the passage of the Voting Rights Act and will feature performances by Common and Patti LaBelle. The event will include an onsite voter registration drive to ensure minority voices are heard in the 2016 election.
