FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – In the wake of heightening bias and racial ugliness in the Presidential race, Reverend Al Sharpton will appeal to presidential candidates at the NUL conference to deal with substantive issues and repudiate diversions of bigotry, bias and ugliness, whether it’s referring to Mexicans as criminals or likening the Iran deal to the Holocaust, this language needs to be taken off the political landscape. As a former Presidential candidate, Reverend Sharpton will urge candidates to stop using diversions and soundbite and focus on substantive issues like economic opportunity, criminal justice and voting rights in the 50th anniversary year of the Voting Rights Act.
