ICYMI: REV. SHARPTON INTERVIEWS ACTOR WENDELL PIERCE ON POLITICSNATION ABOUT WHY HE’S STANDING WITH THE FEARLESS FUND AND FEARLESS FOUNDATION AMID THEIR ONGOING LEGAL BATTLE

Jun 10, 2024

Famed actor argues “ending affirmative action was the pandora’s box” that led to assault on DEI and discusses his personal account of experiencing housing discrimination

New York, NY (June 10, 2024) –Rev. Al Sharpton welcomed Tony Award-winning actor Wendell Pierce on PoliticsNation yesterday to discuss his support for the Fearless Fund and Fearless Foundation amid the ongoing assault by right-wing activist Edward Blum on the organizations in the name of banning diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives across all private enterprises.

“Wendell’s experience with being denied a rental contract despite his notability and wealth points to why this attack on DEI is particularly abhorrent,” said Rev. Al Sharpton, Founder and President of NAN. “After years of being told to pull yourself up by your bootstraps by those on the far right, Black women got together to do just that. Now that they’ve proven that they can succeed on their own, those same far right-wing activists would rather cut off those bootstraps than let them get a piece of the pie. It goes to show that they don’t care about fairness or equality, they simply don’t like seeing women of color make it.”
