The Selma to Montgomery March: Thank You For Registering!


Thank you for registering for our Selma to Montgomery March. Now is the time to put your marching shoes on. The next steps you will need to take, is to Call 877-626-4651 for any questions you might need further clarity on. Upon arrival on March 4th , please meet us at the Voters Right Museum (6 US Highway 80 East Selma, AL 36701) at 8am for orientation and to get meal and cot ticket.

Marchers must be in Selma, AL on March 4 to start the 54 mile journey from Selma to Montgomery. Marchers must also be willing and capable to march 11 miles per day and capable of living and sleeping outdoors in campsites that will be set up along the march route. Light meals will be provided for the marchers as well as transportation to the evening rally locations. All marchers will be responsible for returning back to their original location on Friday, March 9th following the closing rally at the Dexter Avenue Baptist Church in Montgomery, AL.

Here is a list of recommended items for the individuals who will march and camp out for the five (5) days:

  1. Back packs
  2. Sleeping bags
  3. Rain gear
  4. Personal toiletries
  5. Comfortable hiking shoes
  6. Change of clothes for (3) days
  7. Safety vest
