Victoria Pannell, 12, named national leader for Harlem-based civil rights group’s youth movement

The National Action Network has a powerful new voice – a 12-year-old dynamo tapped to head the Harlem-based group’s youth movement.
Victoria Pannell was named yesterday the first national leader for Youth Move, a 47-city network of kids. The new organization is an offshoot of the Rev. Al Sharpton’s civil rights group.
“Adults will listen to kids more than people their own age,” Victoria, a seventh-grader at Intermediate School 218 in Washington Heights, told the Daily News. “They have a soft spot for kids. If we talk to adults with high rank, we can help make some change.”
