The Rev. Al Sharpton visits Palmyra church

PALMYRA — A man internationally known as a minister, civil rights activist, presidential candidate, radio and television personality and even former tour manager of James Brown paid a visit to the Evergreen Baptist Church on Sunday.
The Rev. Al Sharpton attracted a clapping-and-singing crowd of more than 1,000 to the church, where he was serving as guest preacher for its 84th annual Family and Friends Day. The sounds of joyful praying and tambourines reverberated through the overflowing building at Broad and Market streets.
