In the wake of the Trayvon Martin and Tulsa, Okla., shooting tragedies, the Rev. Al Sharpton’s National Action Network, or NAN, has headed to the nation’s capital for its 14th Annual National Convention.

From Wednesday, April 11, to Saturday, April 14, policymakers, advocates, academics, journalists and activists will crowd the Washington Convention Center to discuss a range of issues facing African Americans and other minority-group members today, including immigration, the criminal-justice system, gun policy and the 2012 election.

Panelists and speakers include the Rev. Al Sharpton; NAACP CEO and President Ben Jealous; NBC’s Meet the Press host David Gregory; U.S. Secretary of Housing and Urban Development Shaun Donovan; Harvard Law School professor Charles Ogletree; and Joshua DuBois, executive director of the White House Office of Faith-based and Neighborhood Partnerships.
