Rev. Sharpton Speaks on MSNBC on Call with Trump Advocating for Homeless and Incarcerated Peoples

Mar 22, 2020

Rev. Sharpton spoke today with David Gura on MSNBC on speaking with President Trump about the need to consider those who are incarnated and homeless in light of the Coronavirus outbreak. Sharpton speaks to the need for these communities to be tested, and how they — unlike people with homes and civil liberties — are unable to protect themselves from the coronavirus outbreak using CDC recommended measures such as “social distancing”.

Rev. Sharpton also sheds light on next steps to address these issues. He is in discussion with the NY Governor Cuomo, civil rights leaders such as prominent members of the National Urban League, NAACP, the Black Woman’s Roundtable, as well as federal officials like Chuck Schumer and Nancy Pelosi.
