Apr 05, 2021

(New York, NY) — To remember the anniversary of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s assassination — which coincided this year with Easter Sunday — Reverend Sharpton reflects on the current political landscape of civil rights in the US, as well as the continuation of Dr. King’s mission.

“I thought about it (the assassination of MLK) as we are in the midst of this trial of Derek Chauvin, about Minneapolis and the killing of George Floyd, and how we are dealing with voter suppression laws in Georgia and 43 other states – how far we have come and how far we have not come since Dr. King’s assassination.
