Reverend Sharpton Breaks Down Calls for Defunding the Police

(New York, NY) — On Monday, Reverend Sharpton discussed on Morning Joe the uptick in protestors and activists calling for the “defunding” or “abolishing” of the police. Rev. Sharpton speaks to the need to interpret phrase: “They are really talking about adjusting and recommitting the funding towards things like community policing.”

Rev. Sharpton explains how we need to rethink how we maintain public safety, and how this can only be done through large-scale, structural policing reforms.
