REV. AL SHARPTON RESPONDS TO DONALD TRUMP JR. STATING “WE HAVEN’T CHANGED” YOUR DAD DID REGARDING CLAIMS BY DONALD JR. THAT HIS FATHER IS NOT RACIST
Wednesday, February 7, 2018 (New York, NY) – Civil rights leader Rev. Al Sharpton, President of National Action Network and host on MSNBC’s Politics Nation, responded yesterday to Donald Trump Jr.’s defense of his father from charges of racism and assertion that Rev. Sharpton and others liked him before he got into politics.
In a clip that aired on MSNBC on The Beat with Ari Melber last night, Rev. Sharpton recollected meeting Trump while marching on him about the Central Park Five and how Trump went from attempts at being a Democrat to later concocting birtherism charges against President Obama. According to Rev. Sharpton: “We haven’t changed,” Sharpton said. “He changed. And what he’s changed to become is one who has proposed some of the most racist, bigoted policies… He is promoting racism.”
