‘LOUDMOUTH’ THEATERS DOUBLE OVERNIGHT TO NEARLY 120 AS EXCITEMENT FOR REV. SHARPTON DOCUMENTARY GROWS
—Highly Acclaimed Film Chronicling Civil Rights Leader’s Life and Battles Premieres December 9 in Unprecedented Run for Documentary
New York, NY (Tuesday, December 6, 2022) – Loudmouth, the documentary on the life and battles of Rev. Al Sharpton, will be screened in nearly 120 movie theaters on December 9th – a number that essentially doubled overnight as buzz for the film continues to build.
The nearly 60 new theaters include three in the New York metropolitan area (Brooklyn, Newark, and Elizabeth, NJ), four in Georgia, and 11 in New Jersey, as well as the AMC theater at Disney Springs. For a full list of theaters, click here.
“This is the first time a civil rights leader has lived to see their story told on the big screen,” said Rev. Al Sharpton, Founder and President of the National Action Network (NAN). “Friday’s premiere will be a historic event, which is why you see more theaters eager to screen Loudmouth from coast to coast and everywhere in between. I encourage all young loudmouths who want to change their community to go see this film.
The documentary spans more than 40 years of Rev. Sharpton’s journey to becoming one of the most recognizable civil rights leaders of today. From his early activism to his modern-day legacy, the documentary tells the story of his unyielding commitment to fighting against systemic injustice, racism, and white supremacy in the United States. It features in-depth interviews with Rev. Sharpton and never-before-seen footage. The documentary premiered and sold out as the closing film at the Tribeca Film Festival in June. The film was written, directed, and produced by Josh Alexander as well as produced by Daniel J. Chalfen, Mike Jackson, and Kedar Massenburg.
