Happy Black History Month – NAN
—Feb 02, 2026
This month begins Black History Month and marks 100 years since this nation first formally recognized and honored Black history.
While Black history is global, Black History Month began here in the United States. It is not confined to February, nor is it separate from the American story. It is part of the foundation of this nation’s democracy, culture, labor, and conscience. From resistance to resilience, from sacrifice to progress, our history has helped to shape America itself.
As we observe this month, we do so with remembrance, responsibility, and resolve. The work does not end with celebration. We honor the past by standing firm in the present and organizing for the future.
Black history is American history every day.
