Rev. Al Sharpton to Speak at Lee’s Funeral this Monday at Family’s Request
New York, NY (Thursday, June 23, 2022) – The family of Darius Lee will appear at the National Action Network’s (NAN) House of Justice rally in Harlem this Saturday and have requested Rev. Al Sharpton to speak at the slain college basketball star’s funeral next week. The 21-year-old Houston Baptist University standout was killed Sunday night when gunfire broke out at a Harlem barbecue. The shooting left an additional eight people injured, with calls to end the rise in gun violence across New York City. NAN has pledged to help Lee’s family cover the funeral costs.
