Markeis McGlockton was a 28-year-old black man who was fatally shot on July 19 by Michael Drejka in a parking lot. Drejka is a legal firearm owner with a concealed carry permit. Pinellas deputies did not arrest Drejka for the murder of Markeis McGlockton, claiming that Drejka was protected by Florida’s stand your ground law.
