2015 WAS A YEAR FULL OF ACTION!

Dec 30, 2015

As 2015 draws to a close, what are you thankful for?
When I reflect on the past year, I draw inspiration and joy from the spirit of the early civil rights movement that flows through every aspect of our work here at National Action Network Los Angeles.
I am thankful for the enthusiasm and leadership of our membership and our passionate team of leaders and volunteers who are fearlessly committed to social justice. They all exemplify National Action Network core value by working within the spirit and tradition of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. to promote a modern civil rights agenda that includes the fight for one standard of justice, decency and equal opportunities for all people regardless of race, religion, nationality or gender.
I am thankful that in 2015 we continue to provide resources and assistance to those who was in need of our support. With your support we was able to provide a free monthly Legal night for the community. We also worked diligently on some great projects/initiatives that help form our continued narrative around Police Accountability Laws in California (From Demonstration to Legislation) and shedding a light on violence in our community (Occupy the Corner movement). I’m thankful that our membership occupied corners in challenged neighborhoods every Friday and Saturday night from May 2015- December 2015. We also launched our Free Technology Class helping to bridge the technology gap for seniors and community.
As 2016 approach we will again stride towards our middle name “Action”. We will continue the work to help bring justice to those that’s oppressed and work towards bringing solutions that will bring more accountability towards Police policy. We will also continue to help bring awareness to violence that plague our communities, The Education Crisis in California, Diversity (Hollywood), Health Calamity, Housing challenges and poverty. We also recognize that 2016 is also an election year. NAN LA will continue to work with the County Registrar and our Community partners around Voter Registration and Education thru November 2016.
Today, I invite your support and I hope you will consider a gift that will help us continue our work. Join us every Monday night at 6:00 pm for our weekly meetings at 2828 West Jefferson Blvd. Los Angeles 90018.

Rev. K.W. Tulloss, National Action Network Los Angeles, Western Regional Director.
