Monday: Rev. Al Sharpton & South Bend, IN Mayor Pete Buttigieg to Have Lunch at Sylvia’s Restaurant in Harlem

NEW YORK — Rev. Al Sharpton will host Mayor Pete Buttigieg today for lunch at Sylvia’s, the historic Harlem establishment. In the wake of vocal attacks on Buttigieg’s religion and sexual orientation, they will discuss the need to confront homophobia in the faith community as well as the Mayor’s policy agenda for the Black community in Indiana and around the country.

Rev. Sharpton has hosted several candidates at Sylvia’s over the years, including President Obama in 2007 and Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA) earlier this year.

Immediately following the lunch, Rev. Sharpton and Mayor Buttigieg will hold a media availability outside the restaurant.
