During our National Action Network Annual Convention of more than 5,000 attendees we strongly encourage family and community engagement . As a part of educating our communities we offer organizations an opportunity to utilize our resource room during the convention on Thursday April 27th and Friday April 28th from 10-3 pm. National Action Network (NAN) hosts its national annual convention in New York City honoring the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. The convention brings together influential national leaders in civil rights, government, labor, the church, business, politics, media, and activism, to assess where we are today. This is also NAN’s silver anniversary, 25 years of giving voice to the voiceless and being on the forefront fighting for justice and equality for all who deserve. Some of the topics that will be addressed at the NAN 2016 Annual Convention will include issues of civil rights, education, gun-violence, labor, health-care, and the state of black media. Indeed, children are welcome at the NAN Convention. Additionally, on Friday and Saturday, there are many sessions that are specifically designed for youth 8 and above.
