9:50 a.m. Rev. Al Sharpton will deliver his weekly message and will stand with the family of Eric Garner demanding a full investigation into his death.

2:00 p.m. Rev. Al Sharpton will meet with Eric Garner’s family and Staten Island community leaders at Mount Sinai Center for Community Enrichment in Staten Island.

 

WHAT:

Eric Garner a 43-year-old Staten Island father of six died yesterday after being choked by officers who were detaining him. Video has been released where Garner repeatedly voiced that he could not breathe while officers used excessive force to hold him down, before going unconscious. The family of Eric Garner will join Rev. Sharpton to demand an immediate investigation into his death. Rev. Al Sharpton has already spoken to both Mayor de Blasio and NYPD Commissioner Bratton about this tragedy and will work with them to ensure that justice is carried out. Rev. Sharpton will meet with the family and Staten Island community activists at 2pm at Mount Sinai Center for Community Enrichment in Staten Island.
