Statement from National Action Network Regarding the Ramarley Graham Case

Jun 11, 2012

National Action Network has stood with the family of Ramarley Graham, an 18 year old, who while unarmed and in his own home was shot and killed by New York City Police Officer Richard Haste. Today, it is our understanding that Officer Haste has been advised that an indictment has been voted upon and sealed, until he can appear for arrest and arraignment on charges connected to the killing of Ramarley Graham. While no one takes any pleasure in a life loss or a police officer being indicted, we always demand that the process of justice be fairly and impartially administered. We will continue to stand with Ramarley Graham’s parents during the difficult days ahead. The citizens of Bronx County have demonstrated that they will judge each situation on the facts of the matter and not have two standards of justice. Ramarley Graham was a citizen of Bronx County and his death rightly deserve the opportunity for a jury to decide the guilt or innocence of his attacker.
