Rev. Sharpton Calls On NBA Commissioner Adam Silver To Meet With Civil Rights Leaders

REV. SHARPTON CALLS ON NBA COMMISSIONER ADAM SILVER TO MEET WITH CIVIL RIGHTS LEADERS

April 29, 2014 (New York, NY)–Rev. Al Sharpton, President of the National Action Network is calling on NBA Commissioner Adam Silver to meet with himself and other civil rights leaders this week in regards to the outcome of the investigation and next steps as well as what safeguard the NBA plans to put into place to prevent something like this from happening again. Today Rev. Sharpton will meet with the Congressional Black Caucus in Washington D.C. to address the L.A. Clippers owner Donald Sterling issue among others. Joining him are civil rights leaders; President of the National Urban League Marc Morial, the Interim President of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) Lorraine Miller, and President of the National Coalition on Black Civic Participation (NCBCP) Melanie Campbell. Rev. Sharpton is requesting the NBA Commissioner Silver to meet with this group of national civil rights leaders this week before they proceed.
