NAN’s National Executive Director, Janaye Ingram to Join First Lady Michelle Obama & Civil Rights Leaders at the White House Black History Month event today

Washington, DC  4:00 PM ET – First Lady Michelle Obama will deliver remarks at “Celebrating Women of the Movement,” an event honoring Black History Month at the White House. At the event, the First Lady will introduce a panel of intergenerational women who have played a pivotal role in the civil rights movement – both past and present.

The panel will be moderated by Vanessa De Luca, Editor-in-Chief of Essence magazine. Joining the panel will be Carlotta Walls LaNier, member of the Little Rock Nine; Charlayne Hunter-Gault, activist and journalist; Sherrillyn Ifill, President and Director-Counsel of the NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund; Chanelle Hardy, National Urban League Senior Vice President for Policy and Executive Director of the National Urban League Washington Bureau; Janaye Ingram, National Executive Director of the National Action Network. The First Lady will be introduced by Howard University sophomore, Allyson Carpenter.
