Months After Voting Rights Executive Order, NAN Fights for a Permanent Solution

May 21, 2018

After Gov. Cuomo announced his Executive Order 181 at National Action Network’s 2018 Convention, we are still fighting to #RestoreTheVote in New York and all over the country. National Organizer Isabel Zeitz-Moskin and NAN Second Chance Committee Chair Victor Pate represented NAN at the People’s Hearing in Albany. They and other NAN representatives traveled to Albany to lobby for voting rights restoration as well as other voting reforms, including Early Voting, Automatic Voter Registration, Pre-Registration for 16- and 17-year-olds and Flexibility to Change Party Affiliation. All of these reforms will make elections fair and accessible to ALL voters.
