Mission Statement
Criminal Justice Initiative of the National Action Network was developed to combat racism and discrimination by Law Enforcement Agencies, Corporations and other social institutions. Everyday across this nation African Americans, Immigrants, and poor White Americans suffer all types and forms of discrimination. The National Action Network was founded by Rev Al Sharpton to confront these issues. The Criminal Justice Initiative is the critical mission of the National Action Network responding to, organizing and mobilizing tens of thousands of Americans to engage in direct action, protest and civil disobedience. It is our duty to challenge racism, sexism and homophobia where ever they rear their ugly heads and over the history of the National Action Network that is exactly what we have done and will continue to do, until we can all enjoy equal protection under the law!
